The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission is supported by individuals, churches, businesses, community groups and foundations. Your gifts are the reason that we can assist the many men, women and children who come to us in need. Donations to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

You can receive a partial tax credit for donations made by cash or check to a qualifying homeless shelter, food bank, food kitchen or other entity whose primary purpose is to provide overnight accommodations, food or meals to indigent persons. Your financial donations to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission qualify for this tax credit. Please consult your tax accountant if you have any questions regarding this tax credit that is available for both individuals and businesses.

Also, a provision was included in the recent federal financial bailout that extends for two years the ability of people 70 ½ years old and older to take a tax-free withdrawal of up to $100,000 annually from their IRA and donate it to charity. We suggest you consult your financial advisor about this wonderful way to make a permanent difference in the lives of KGM clients.
