JOB DESCRIPTION: Food Service Support Team Supervisor
Duties:
- Must be in agreement with goals and objectives and ministry philosophy of Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
- Directs and supervises food preparation and service, serving Women’s Shelter families, Men’s shelter residents, guests who are in need, New Life Discipleship Program members and Family Hope Discipleship Program members, and staff.
- Train the men and women from the Recovery Programs in the areas of food safety and production.
- Be a mentor and minister to New Life and Family Hope Program members.
- Facilitate cooperation with the other divisions at the KGM.
- Inspect and organize incoming food donations.
- Oversee the organization, maintenance and cleanliness of all Food Service equipment and storage areas under the direction of the Director of Food Service.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of emergency food baskets when needed.
- Assist the Food Service Director with coordinating schedules.
- Assist Food Service Director with communication with outside agencies by overseeing the food pick-up route and drivers.
- May be needed to assist with food pick-ups.
- Any other duties as assigned by Director of Food Service.
- Must have valid driver license and in good standing.
- Have work knowledge of Excel/ Microsoft Word.
