Food Service Director- Full Time Job Opportunity
The Food Service Director must possess the following:
- Supervises, coordinates and evaluates work of all foodservice employees in preparing, serving food, and cleaning facilities and utensils in a production kitchen.
- General knowledge and understanding of nutrition.
- Provide ministry support consistent with KGM beliefs, to staff and patrons of the Food Service Department.
- Knowledge of computer software
- Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.
- Considerable knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.
- Develop and oversee the food services training program
- An understanding of foodservice program finances
- Strong Administrative Skills.
- Ability to interact positively and teach program, shelter and personnel in Food Service.
Specialized training in foodservice management and nutrition, experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision is desired. This is a Ministry Position.

Food Service Support Position
This is a full time position, approximately 40 hours per week not to exceed unless authorized. By the Administrative staff.
Responsibilities and duties:
- To assist in planning, producing, and overseeing of meals, for the New Life Discipleship Program, the Men and Women Shelter ministries, Administrative staff and guests.
- To assist in implement policies relating to the department.
- To organize incoming food donations.
- To assist in training the men and women from the recovery programs in the areas of food safety and production.
- To be available as a mentor to the men from the New Life Discipleship Program.
- To assist schedules that allows maximum coverage with Kitchen Stewards, Manager and self
- To assist and help coordinate the distribution of excess food items to appropriate agencies.
- To network with other similar agencies in South West Michigan.
- To help facilitate cooperation with the other departments in the KGM.
- To oversee the organization, maintenance and cleanliness of all equipment and storage areas.
- To oversee the creation and distribution of emergency food baskets when needed.
- To adjust the food pick - up route, oversee the drivers and do pick- ups when needed.
- To oversee the provision and distribution of food items to be gleaned by staff.
- To perform any additional duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or the Executive Director.
- To be a role model for members of the Discipleship Program.
