The staff at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission's emergency shelter for homeless men impart one undeniable truth: True healing comes through the power of Christ. The world has taken its toll in our men's lives and they arrive physically, emotionally and spiritually scarred. The most important thing we can offer these men is hope. Hope for a better future, hope for recovery, an opportunity to live Life to its fullest through the only True source of hope in this life: the Lord Jesus Christ.

We feed the men who come to us three nutritious meals a day, clothe them and offer them spiritual counseling. Our staff is motivated to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through daily Christian study and worship services. These men who come to us in such great need receive staff support 24 hours a day including help with financial management, marriage/family counseling, and employment skills. We are able to accommodate 88 men in our shelter dorm. In the Good Samaritan area, up to 100 men sleep nightly. We provide these men with bedding and personal hygiene items.

Please pray that our men's programs continues to be an effective outreach to men who so desperately need to know Jesus Christ.

Ongoing needs for men in our shelter include:

  • Underwear (new)
  • Socks (new)
  • Toiletries
  • Towels
  • Washcloths
  • Bus Tokens
  • Hats
  • Coats
  • Gloves
