Food service

The Mission’s Food Service Ministry serves those who are hungry physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Our doors are open not only to our clients, but also to anyone in the community who is in need.
In 2010 we fed 201,883 meals with the help of your donated food. Without you, our food ministry cannot go on. The need for food is greatest from January through the summer months, but donations are appreciated at any time of the year. Items we always need include:
breakfast meats - pancake mix
- cereal, sugar
- creamer
- juice
- salt
- spices (garlic powder, chili powder, pepper, etc.)
- lunch meat
- condiments and salad dressings
- butter or margarine
- cheese
- salads
- plastic tableware
- paper napkins
- any canned or dried items
If you are planning to purchase food to donate to a food drive, please bring number 10 size cans and other items in bulk, if possible. These sizes make our job easier. If you represent a food chain, grocery store or other organization and would like to be added to our regular pickup route, please call us at 269.345.2974 ext 247.
If you would like to drop off food from an event or from your own kitchen, bring the items to the Gospel Mission food delivery door on the south side of the building whenever it is convenient. We are open 9 a.m.- 7:30p.m. every day. Of course, the items should be delivered as quickly as possible for food-safety reasons. Tax-deductible receipts are available for all food donations.
