Life Application
Life Application is a short-term introductory program to provide basic information to new and returning clients at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission seeking a life change. The program provides a solid foundation for future growth and encouragement to proceed to the long-term programs.
These are the goals of the program:
- To introduce goal setting
- Provide a basic introduction to salvation and spiritual awareness.
- To introduce four basic pillars of success: teachability, servanthood, humility, and honesty
- To provide structure and stability which helps develop self-control
- To provide time to clean their bodies of chemical dependence and to practice sobriety, if necessary
- To assist in the acquiring of all identification/registrations
- To offer legal services as needed
- To have physical/medical needs asses through a medical examination for adults and children
- To introduce the client to Mission life
- To teach healthy emotional expression by group therapy, establishing healthy boundaries and understanding means of positive emotional release
- To offer encouragement and steps to improve self-worth and personal esteem
