Men's Shelter Support-Full Time

Job Discription: To perform specific duties and activities for the Men’s Shelterof the Department of Guest Services of the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. 

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week - evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:
•Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
•Submit to the Men’s Shelter Lead Supervisor as their direct supervisor and fulfill requests of the Men’s Shelter Director.
•Alert the Men’s Shelter Lead Supervisor to any concerns during their shift.
•Complete any daily logs, reports and files requested while on shift.
•Maintain constant communication while on shift with Lead Supervisor and other departments as needed.  
•Incorporate Biblical principles into interactions with guests and other staff that build positive and productive relationships.
•Maintain a loving and peaceful environment by exercising spiritual care over the staff and guests as needed.
•Assist all guests with basic needs while on their shift.

•Possess an intimate relationshipwith God that models abundant living through all circumstances.
•Possess a commitment to the LordJesus Christ exhibiting His lordship in their public and personal life.
•Possess and promote a drug, nicotineand alcohol-free lifestyle.


Creation Station Lead Supervisor

Job Discription: This is a 40 hour per week B-3 position.  Must be available from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.  Is responsible for overseeing the after school program and summer program for school age children.  Functions as support staff in Sonshine Kids for a portion of the day during the school year.

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities:
•Follow the policies and procedures of the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
•Maintain a peaceful, ministry focused atmosphere.
•Maintain a safe, clean, appealing environment
•Welcome the children as they arrive to Creation Station and sign them in.
•Oversee work trainees and volunteers in the Creation Station.
• Assist children with games, crafts and homework
• Prepare play and learning materials and set up the children's environment
•Work with the Children’s Ministry Director to further develop and implement the curriculum.
•Write incident reports as needed.
•Keep the Children’s Ministry Director informed by writing a short general overview daily at the end of each shift.  This may include supply needs and wants, concerns, disciplinary issues, blessings, etc.
•Keep assigned area clean by taking out trash daily, storing snack food appropriately, keep supply cabinets clean and organized, sweep and mop weekly.
•Be support staff in Sonshine Kids as needed on school days.

Must Have Ability To:
•Share the gospel message openly and clearly.
•Relate well to both children and adults.
•Provide leadership and stability for program continuity.
•Demonstrate an understanding, patient, warm and receptive attitude toward children.
•Lift 30 pounds.
•Sit on the floor to play with children.

Qualifications:
•Show commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, demonstrate Biblical values and lifestyle and have strong ministry skills.
•Possess a willingness to serve the Lord in a ministry that deals with low-income individuals.
•Must have high school diploma.
•Must love children and teens.
•Must have training and/or experience in Early Childhood or Elementary Education
•Must be nicotine free

Requirements:
The Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a privately funded 501 (c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry.   Our designated purpose is religious, and we are a Christ-centered ministry which is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping the homeless and impoverished.  We consider every position to be essential in the fulfillment of our ministry and Statement of Purpose.  As such, each employee must have a relationship with Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.  All employees must:

Maintenance Manager

Job Discription: As the Maintenance Manager,your task will be to manage the Missions grounds and physical facility asdefined below. An employee in this role will be proficient with and demonstrateconsiderable skill in building repair, emergency and preventative maintenance,maintenance problem diagnosis, repair costing and overall job, work order,inventory and shop organization.

Position Type: Full Time

Responsibilities:
•Trouble shoot maintenance issues including but not limited too electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry and landscaping

Must Have Ability To:
•Must be able to evaluate problem areas and propose the necessary corrections
•Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
•Must be  mechanically inclined


Case Manager​

Job Discription: As a case manager, you will provide crisis intervention, case management assistance, relational discipleship, and biblical counseling for assigned guests and other guests as needed. You will Lead an assigned group of guests for group counseling and/or relational discipleship encouraging individual and community growth. Case manager must display a distinctive Christian walk which evidences one’s personal relationship with God, liberated through Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit. You will also need to develop, consult and update written protocols for the delivery of support services as needed. Case managers will also help each assigned guest identify and achieve an individualized pathway (treatment plan) which includes but may not be limited to the following areas: physical health, mental health, social, emotional, employment, and spiritual needs.

Position Type: Full Time

Responsibilities:

Qualifications: Need at least two years of experience in social services or gospel rescue mission ministry with exposure to homelessness, mental health needs, and substance-abuse recovery. Have at least an Associate’s Degree in a human services field and in the process of completing a BSW or a related degree.  Preference would be to possess Biblical Counseling Certification (IABC); however, training and certification must be achieved once hired.
